LARA Fund Announces Strategic New Hires, Welcomes Head of Investor Relations, Investment Director, and Senior Associate

MIAMI, Fl. – June 20, 2024 – The Latin America Real Assets (LARA) Opportunity Fund, the only U.S.-based private equity fund focused on under-capitalized energy and infrastructure opportunities across 12 emerging markets in LATAM, is excited to welcome new Investment Director, Alejandro Rosales Mayr, Head of Investor Relations, Axel Halvorssen, and new Senior Associate, Cristobal Rabat.

Alejandro brings an extensive background in finance and asset management, focused on Latin American
investments. Prior to joining LARA, Alejandro served as Executive Director at Santander and Director at UBS, where he successfully executed new business opportunities with US FIG clients, as well as with sovereigns and banks in Central America, Panama, and the Caribbean, raising nearly $1 billion for institutional clients. Alejandro received his bachelor’s degree in international development studies from the University of California, Los Angeles and a master’s of International Affairs in International Finance and Policy from Columbia.

Axel Halvorssen comes to LARA as the Head of Investor Relations. Prior to joining the LARA team, Axel worked with several disruptive technology companies as a capital allocator and tech innovator focused on advanced technologies across a variety of markets. Axel also started his own company—Verti-Cali—focused on fundraising, capital placement, M&A, and expanding strategic partnerships. Axel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Pennsylvania.

Cristobal joins LARA as a Senior Associate specializing in deal structuring. Previously, Cristobal was an Associate at Banco de Crédito e Inversiones (BCI) in Santiago, Chile where he worked on acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. Cristobal brings experience in transactions related to the energy, infrastructure, and mining sectors. Cristobal received his M.B.A. from Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Católica de Chile.
